The world is quickly waking up to hydrogen‘s suitability as a zero-emissions fuel for use in industry, transport and back-up power. We at Landsvirkjun are ideally suited to produce green hydrogen and are currently determining our possibilities for reaching commercial viability.

H2 provides an opportunity to increase revenues with new sales, alongside:

• Creating value from curtailable and intermittent power.
• Diversifying our customer base with a new export product.
• Decarbonizing industry, space heating and transport in both Iceland and Europe.

    80 MT of grey hydrogen, currently produced from fossil fuels, need to be replaced globally in coming years with green hydrogen, made with renewable energy.
