Sveinbjörn joined Landsvirkjun in 2015 as a Senior Business Analyst, and for the last two years, he has been a Business Development Manager. Sveinbjörn has focused on developing business opportunities, leading new customer negotiations, and directing business development. Sveinbjörn has a Master of Science (MSc) in Energy Science and Technology from the Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule (ETH) in Zurich and a Project Management Certification from the International Project Management Association (IPMA).
Due to climate change, no stone is left unturned in the global search for solutions for substituting renewables for fossil fuels, which calls for projects of the kind that Sveinbjörn and his people will lead. Landsvirkjun, with partners in Iceland, is developing a project to generate hydrogen and methane for the energy transition. Furthermore, the Company actively participates in international collaboration for developing and investing in renewable energy generation infrastructure, with particular emphasis on the sustainable evolution of the Arctic regions.
