One of the World’s Largest Geothermal Conferences

Landsvirkjun will be one of the most significant sponsors of the IGC, Iceland Geothermal Conference, at Harpa, May 28-30. A large number of international and Icelandic scientists are expected to attend.

Bjarni Pálsson Executive Director of Geothermal Development at Landsvirkjun, Rósbjörg Jónsdóttir Managing Director of the Iceland Renewable Energy Cluster og Alma Stefánsdóttir, Geothermal Specialist and Landsvirkjun's representative in the IGC committee, recently signed an agreement confirming this collaboration.

The IGC is one of the largest conferences on geothermal utilisation worldwide. The IGC is usually held every two to three years but was last held in 2018, as the World Geothermal Conference took place in Iceland in 2020 and 2021.

Iceland Renewable Energy Cluster Supports Innovation

A cluster collaboration of companies in energy-related operations in Iceland, the Iceland Renewable Energy Cluster, hosts the conference. The purpose of the Iceland Renewable Energy Cluster is to support innovation and increase the value of renewable energy projects. The IGC promotes Iceland as one of the leading worldwide geothermal and renewable energy discussion forums.

At the IGC, the Iceland Renewable Energy Cluster participants can introduce their expertise, goods, and services, create new business opportunities, and strengthen the existing ones through technology exhibitions, speeches, and meetings.
